Our Staff

Although it has new buildings on a semi rural site the Waitaha School's greatest strength is the quality of its staff. With its small size and excellent staff/student ratio it provides a family atmosphere for students where all teaching is done by small teams working co-operatively with parents to develop individual education plans (IEP's) which are delivered one-to-one or in small groups. All of our teachers have considerable special education experience and we have a team of experienced teacher aides. Classes are small and the student/staff ratio is low. These staff are also supported by a cleaner, a caretaker and an administrator. Our school is led by our principal.

In addition there is specialist input from:

  • Occupational Therapist
  • Physiotherapist
  • Speech and Language Therapist
  • Music Therapist
  • Psychologist
  • Transition Teacher
